-The Original Vodka
Mod. Players Like SRV and about a million other guitarists have
used this unit.. The classic guitar/ts9/amp combo is kickin', but
maybe it's time to get your own variation this famous sound. Updated
circuitry and tweaks allow YOUR sound to come through...
This mod ABSOLUTely takes your TS9 to tone heaven. Over 11 mods
done to this one, your tube screamer will be an over-the-top beast!
RC4558P chip is installed as well as various capacitor, diode, and
resistor substitutions. High quality Panasonic metal film capacitors,
low noise metal film resistors always! Tighter low end, increased
transparency, more available drive, oh and a laser like yellow LED!....
Ever chain two TS9's together? This mod gets you there. Pure rock
and roll tone... more high end sparkle, rich harmonics, less coloration,
and searing growl. Words like 'complexity' and 'natural' come to
mind. Amazing for leads and jams where you really want to capture
the energy of a climaxing solo. No more choking notes in the higher
registers where you need them most. Listen to the sample. We won't
try to fool you with more tech jargon! THIS MOD KICKS.

OK, so the TS-808
conversion mod is uber-popular these days. Hey it sounds great...but
we decided to geek it out and come up with our own recipe variation.
This is the truly blinging mod- lots of sparkle and richness. When
we say special, we mean special.
Ever peruse through ebay and see that a vintage TS-808 is running
for about 400 bucks??? Ever wonder how guys like SRV made their
strat bleed pure intoxicating tone? Well at least part of it was
the pedal...and more specifically, what's inside that pedal. Two
things you'll hear a lot about in 'Gearland': The famous Japan Radio
Company JRC4558D chip. Yeah, that's right, the one in all those
old school radios and cheap-ass electronic stereos. Well that chip
coupled with the classic circuitry outsourced to MAXON made for
one hell of a guitar pedal. So why the mod? It's not what it used
to be... Our Ts9 vodkamod returns your TS9 to TS-808 circuitry.
We do this by removing the neutered chip being used these days and
replacing it with a JRC4558D chip. But that's not all- we install
an IC socket so you can try various chips (which you can find online
at places like digikey.com, mouser.com, and smallbearelec.com).
Some guys use the Texas Instruments RC4558p chip that is getting
all sorts of hype. OK, so we'll include one of those too...swap
her and judge yourself.
Continuing on with the mod, we mod some crucial resistors to the
carbon comp type and values found in the original. These smooth
out the tone but do introduce a tad bit of retro noise. We upgrade
some capacitors to metal film type to compensate for some of the
noise this retro circuit introduces into your guitar chain and also
to focus the lowe end slighty while still honoring the vintage tone.
Metal film really are the highest fidelity, and you'll really be
able to tell when your bass notes aren't getting washed out in drunken-tonelike
stupor. A few other 'secret' component upgrades in the clipping
sections and an uber-cool laser-like yellow LED make this interpretation
of a classic mod ONE OF A KIND! AND WE AREN'T GONNA CHARGE YOU 65
BUCKS TO DO IT!! Vintage tone at a fraction of the cost.
